The Blazing Star blooms during summer from July to September. Each plant will produce multiple stems containing several lavender flowers. It averages two to three feet in height and prefers partial direct sun.

    It grows best in border areas that are damp but not wet. The root should be planted two to three inches deep with the point of growth at the surface. Some varieties may not grow and bloom until the second season.
