Ferns are flowerless, seedless vascular plants that have roots, stems, and leaf-like fronds. Ferns reproduce with spores instead of seeds. The Sensitive fern has light green leaves that die back upon first frost. The almost triangular leaves average about two feet in height.
This fern grows best in damp or wet locations in full sun or shade. It rapidly spreads by means of underground forking roots that grow near the surface. It should be planted about two inches deep.
