All Trilliums have three leaves and three petals, thus the name Tri-Lillium. The Yellow Trillium bloom color varies from yellow to yellow-green and has a citrus scent. The stalkless flower sits directly above the mottled leaves. It grows eight to twelve inches tall and blooms from April to June.
The Yellow Trillium is best planted in shaded areas in decomposed leaf mold in moist, neutral soil. Plant the rhizome about three inches deep. Some varieties may not grow and bloom until the second season.
